Environmental Impact Assessment

The Giunchetto Quarry is located on the Sestri-Ponente (Genoa) hinterland, in the Chiaravagna Valley. The dolomitic limestone quarry is one of the main aggregate mining industry used in civil engineering works on the Genoa’s area; recently this quarry has supplied the construction sites of the new Genova Bridge (San Giorgio Bridge), of the Sestri Ponente’s harbour enlargement and of the Scarpino dump site.
In the past this Unicalce’s mining extraction site has left an important footprint on the territory, while today the extraction methodologies are in full compliance with all the environmental regulations.
