Opencast limestone aggregate quarry
Located by the Lake Geneva shoreline, the Châble du Midi quarry exploits a siliceous limestone for the production of ballast and aggregates for high-resistance bituminous mixtures for the road industry.
The opencast quarry is located on a steep slope. The quarry run, originally let downslope along a large debris cone, is managed since 2019 through a full ore pass shaft and an underground conveyor system, according to a GDP-GEOMIN design.
