GDP-GEOMIN will provide the geological model for the design of the new Messina-Catania railway
In last weeks RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) awarded Webuilid in JV with Pizzarotti SpA the lots 1 and 2 for the duplication of the railway line Messina-Catania. PROGER SpA, partner of the designers JV that will develop the Final Design on behalf of the constructor, will award GDP-GEOMIN a contract for the geological study of both lots.
Lot 1, Fiumefreddo – Taormina/Letojanni, is worth 640 millions Euro and has a length of 15 km, with 10 km of tunnels including a complex underground station. Lot 2 is worth 1 billion Euros and has a length of 28.3 km mostly underground.
The designers JV to which GDP-GEOMIN will provide the geological model for the project is composed, besides PROGER SpA, by Rocksoil SpA and Pini Swiss Engineers srl.
