Geothermal exploration of deep resources

In 2009, the Valdieri Municipality, the Piedmont Region, the Cuneo Province and the Union of Communes of the Maritime Alps have subscribed an agreement for the thermal development of Valdieri with the aim of creating a spa and wellness centre in case of the successful discovery of an exploitable deep geothermal resource.
GDP-GEOMIN has supported the Valdieri Municipality in a wide range of services spanning from tendering for the selection of the drilling company that would have undertaken the exploration, to the hydrogeological study for obtaining the Exploration License, to the drilling supervision and management of three deep wells (one 750 m-deep and two others 380 m-deep). A hydrothermal resource has been recovered and in 2019 the Italian Ministry of Health has recognized its therapeutic properties.
