GDP-GEOMIN is part of the JV that will provide the design for the Fortezza-Ponte Gardena railway line
RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) awarded the consortium WEBUILD SpA/Implenia Construction GmbH the contract for the quadruplication of the first lot of the Fortezza-Ponte Gardena railway stretch, representing the natural southern prosecution of the Brenner Base Tunnel.
GDP-GEOMIN is part of the designer’s group that will provide, on behalf of the constructor, the Final Design. Besides GDP-GEOMIN, the Joint Venture is composed by SWS Engineering SpA (leader), PINI Swiss Engineers S.r.l., S.I.Stn Studio Associato, M INGEGNERIA Studio Associato and S.I.F.EL. SpA.
The lot has a total length of 22.5 km and includes two double tube tunnels: the Scaleres Tunnel of 15.4 km and the Gardena Tunnel of 6.3 km. The contract is worth 1.2 billions of Euro and the forecasted construction duration is of seven years.
