Doubling of the railway line Fiumefreddo – Taormina

The project deals with the doubling of the Fiumefreddo- Taormina line, the dismantlement of the present line between the Fiumefreddo plants and the connection of the Letojanni interconnection on the existing line. The total lenght is around 13.9 km (10 .3 km tunnel) in addition to 1.5 km of interconnection with the existing railway line at the Letojanni railway station. Near the town of Taormina, between pk 13 + 100 and pk 13 + 700, is planned the new Taormina underground station characterized by a single chamber with two sidewalks of 350 m length.
