Relevant geological aspects in the perspective of the excavation of a Messina Strait tunnel
Considering the recent proposals of re-examining the issue of crossing the Strait of Messina also with an underwater tunnel excavated into the substratum that constitutes its seabed, GDP-GEOMIN has edited an article bringing some reflections on the geological aspects involved in this design hypothesis and on the approach for carrying survey and geological studies aimed at providing the information suitable for an appropriate design of the work and the management of construction risks.
