Areas of R&D
GDP-GEOMIN partners play an active role in scientific and applied research, thanks to a well-developed network of relations with Italian and foreign universities, in order to constantly update, develop and implement the investigation methods required to keep the state of the art in managing the technical issues relevant to our firm business areas.
We bring our expertise and know-how to the service of our clients, helping them to anticipate solutions on specific geological and environmental situations.
The main areas on which we have invested our energies to implement applied research concern the development of methodologies for:
- GMR – Geological Model Rating; the reliability assessment of geological predictions applied to underground excavations.
- Hydro TBM; the analysis of the rock mass hydraulic response during excavation with TBM.
- the analysis of the hydraulic response of fault zone to drainages carried out head of excavation fronts in mechanized tunnel excavations.
- method for the assessment of groundwater contamination by transition metals leached through waste rock dumps.
